how to distribute progress bar to client

I recently added a progress control to an Excel application. My client's computer, which also runs Excel 2016 does not seem to support that control. Is there something I can do to the file to make it so the code will not fail on the progress bar?
There are several computers that will be running this application and I really prefer not to have to install references or something on each one.

Thanks

Ken

I frequently use the bar method from Andy Pope's write-up here:

Progress meters

Basically a userform that adjusts the size of a bar (and updates the displayed value) at each step in the process.

when you say control progress bar do you mean - userform?
I guess regardless; I don't know if we had the same issue, I was having similar issues where clients were still 2010 platform. By some chance of luck - I found it posted some where that it had to do with the users Reference library, I believe its the Microsoft Office Object Library.
I can't remember off hand, but you have to check or uncheck it in 2010
I honestly had another laptop issued to me with just 2010 on it because it automatically converts it back if the file is opened in >2013
Hopefully this might give some insight

I figured the problem is related to some reference that I have, but they don't have. I would really like to figure out a way to make whatever reference is necessary a part of the file so nothing has to be done on other people's computers.

thanks
