Unless you posted the original, I which case you can edit the subject line by editing your original post...

Actually, if and only if you're the author, you can change the subject line at any point, which has ups and downs.

The following thread is an example (Sorry Mark, I don't know of others not involving myself). This caught me off guard when I saw it:

Good point, well made. I don't know why you're trying to bring my into this thread though, this is my first post in it.

Of course you can change the subject if you're the OP. There's people that put "RESOLVED" into the subject line when they've got a satisfactory answer.

This is *not* entirely true. Not only If and only If the author can change it. Moderators and Administrators are allowed to do this, as well, as editing, locking and deleting posts.

OK - so i can edit my original post - both text and subject line, but this does not bump it back up on the board...:???:

Correct. Editing any bit of a posting doesn't count as a "new" post. You have to actually add a new post to it to bump it back up.

I'm a SLOW learner!

Brian,

At the bottom of any post you make, there is a little icon marked "edit." Click on that.

If you are the topic starter and wish to change the subject line, click on "edit" at the bottom of that first message and the subject line should be available to make changes to as well.
