Hello.
I am trying to create a histogram off of pivot table data.
Sample data...

When I am clicked within the pivot table and try to add a pivot chart and choose histogram... i get the following error.

Is this because of the larger counts or... is there other way of accomplishing this.

A scatter plot would work as well.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Office 365 is being used. Thanks again !

Hi!
Copy the pivot table data and paste it outside the pivot table (this is what the message you received says). Then build a chart based on the copied data. After creating, in the chart properties, change the data source, specifying the pivot table data. After that, you can delete the copied data. The chart will then use the pivot table data.

hopefully i won't have to do that everytime the data is updated

Easy way to be sure you "won't have to do that everytime the data is updated" is by having your input data in excel table.

The other approach to data - as your data is already aggregated by pivot: plot your histogram as simple column graph from pivot output.

It is exactly what histogram in Excel does - it aggregates data in ranges (this part is done also by your pivot table) and then plots aggregated as column graph.
