And how about a custom macro button linked to the PERSONAL.XLS file that would allow you to enable/disable this function on any active worksheet?
to do the same steps in xl2003
1) Format Menu.
2) Choose Conditional Formating .
3)you will have Drop down list with "Cell Value Is " Change It to " Formula Is "
4) copy and paste the formula
=OR(CELL("row")=ROW(),CELL("col")=COLUMN())
5) choose your format
6) then Right click on sheet name --> View code , then paste this code
