not sure if that's the right description....

just bought a 22" wide screen monitor and when working in excel it's difficult to follow from left to right in a row i am looking at. i have 22 columns of info that are in view at any given time. the row number on the left gets highlighted and the cell i happen to be in is outlined with a double line border. is there a way to get the whole row outlined like the single cell?

i know i can achieve this by clicking on the row itself, but i tend to move a lot around the spreadsheet via the arrow keys.

Thanks

works great, does what it's supposed to do, but,

i can no longer undo changes made to a cell

the undo and redo arrows are no longer highlighted so if a mistake in typing or pasting is made it can't be undone.

any clues why this is happening?

Excel Facts

Fastest way to copy a worksheet?
Hold down the Ctrl key while dragging tab for Sheet1 to the right. Excel will make a copy of the worksheet.
You must have some other code that is effecting your cell changes.

What I posted has nothing to do with cell content changes.

I did some testing with values in A1:C5and was able to change those values.

The code I posted still highlights the row that I activate.

And to set the record straight: After some searching of my memory, I did not modify the Ozgrid formula that I first posted. It was jindon that provided the final code that I posted.

Hi,

Here is the link to download of my (free) coordinate selection Add-Ins with possibility of selection
Download ZVI_CoordSelection_v04_Engl.zip (380KB)

Add-In provides coordinate selection of Excel active row and/or column.

Possible modes of the row selection:
- Entire row of worksheet
- Entire row of the current range (for the tables)
- Leftmost cell of the current range (for the tables)
- None

Possible modes of the column selection:
- Entire column of worksheet
- Entire column of the current range (for the tables)
- Title top cell of the current range (for the tables)
- None

At coordinate selection mode only active cell can be deleted.
Its restoring is possible by the typical Excel way, i.e. by Ctrl-Z hotkey or from menu: Edit – Undo.
Undo buffer is reserved for 20 deleted cells.

On/Off switching of Add-In can be made by Ctrl-Q hotkey as well as by additional control buttons installed on the right side of Excel Standard control panel.
One button is for On/Off, another one – for configuration.

Simple help file, install and uninstall EXE files are enclosed to archive with XLA Add-In.

Regards,
Vladimir

Coordinate selection Add-In highlighted at the link above has been updated now.
Undo of the changed coordinate cells are possible in it just as for removed coordinate cells.
Internal undo buffer of Add-In is increased from 20 up to 100 deleted or changed coordinate (intersected) cells.
