Help with joining 2 cells if an argument is correct

Hello!

I'm hoping one of you lovely peeps can help me here. I have a spreadsheet that has cleansed of pre-fix's part numbers in Column B, a duplicate part number warning in Column C and a formula in Column D that says, in English....

If C2 contains "Dupe" then combine the the contents of B2 plus the first 2 characters of A2.

Can I get Excel to do this for me? Erm, no is the short answer! I've tried searching the old Internet for help and I'm just getting myself tied up in knots. Is this possible using IF, LEFT and CONCATENATE functions as I have been trying, or am I fighting a loosing battle?

JA-32307 32307 DUPE 32307JA ------<This is what I'd like to see in D2 if the line contains the word "Dupe" in Column C

=if(c2="Dupe",B2&Left(A2,2),"")
