hi

I have a workbook and it has a lot of tabs and there is it also comes up with a error message "This workbook contains one or more links that cannot be updated" error message

I have clicked on "Edit Links" and it is says it is a workbook with blah blah location, and when I go to break the link or recreate the other workbook it still comes up with the error message.

is there a way to find where the link is coming from within the original workbook. so I can delete and remove the link so I don't have this error message anymore

also does anyone know if having hidden tabs affect this as well??

thanks for any help

Excel Facts

Can you AutoAverage in Excel?
There is a drop-down next to the AutoSum symbol. Open the drop-down to choose AVERAGE, COUNT, MAX, or MIN
Hi, I usually do a workbook "find" on "
[*]" (options, within: workbook)
or try...

Data >> Connections

I have found that excel will not tell you if the link is within a named range. If you have any of these, check to see if any are links to another workbook manually.

Formulas >> Name Manager

All else fails, create a new workbook. It sucks to take this route but I've done it many times lol
