I am interested in understanding the best way to go about calculating the turnover on NBA teams.
If I have the following data for the past 5 years.
Column A = Unique ID (eg. 2012-Steve Nash-Phoenix Suns)
Column B = Year (eg. 2012)
Column C = Team (eg. Pheonix Suns)
Column D = Player name (eg. Steve Nash)
Column E = Games played (eg. 62)
I am looking to calculate.
1. The number of teams that a player has played on in the last 5 years.
2. The familiarity that a player has with the team members on his team in any year (eg. Steve Nash on the 2012 Suns). How many seasons has he played with all of the players on his team that year?
3. The amount of turnover on the team in a 1 year period and 5 year period.
Any help would be appreciated. Relative novice when it comes to excel.
