Hi,
I'm fairly new to Excel and have a basic knowledge of how it works. We pay our people tiered commissions. Tier 1 people receive a 50% on the first $1,600 sales, then 60% for anything above. So if someone has $1,809 sales for the week they would receive $925.40 commission. Anyone have a simple formula?

Thanks! Matthew.

Excel Facts

Quick Sum
Select a range of cells. The total appears in bottom right of Excel screen. Right-click total to add Max, Min, Count, Average.
Welcome to the board.

Assuming your number is in A1, try:

=IF(A1>1600,(A1-1600)*0.6+800,A1*0.5)
