Hey Everyone!

We are working in Excel 2016. When we typed a VLOOKUP into a cell, it turned into a truncated picture. We could type behind it, and type a new formula below it, and could not move the "picture".

This file has been used many times and was a one time occurrence.

Has this happened to anyone?

Thanks!

Excel Facts

Shade all formula cells
To shade all formula cells: Home, Find & Select, Formulas to select all formulas. Then apply a light fill color.
Probably generated one of Excel's shortcut key combos accidentally
- perhaps the camera tool

If it is the only picture on the sheet then run the code below and see if that fixes it

right click on sheet tab \ View Code \ paste code into that window \ {ALT}{F11} to go back to excel
{ALT}{F8} to list macros
Select and run DeletePicture
{ALT}{F11} to go back to VBA
Delete the macro
Close the VBA window (X in top right)
Save file and do not save as macro-enabled (unless it already was!)

Code:
Sub DeletePicture()
    ActiveSheet.Shapes(1).Delete
End Sub
