I have a formula that says if a cell= "" then "" - for example if in cell C1 I had the following =if(A1="","",B1)

The problem is it is not reading cell A1 as being blank even though it appears to be empty. It is in "general" format. The weird thing is it was working a few days ago but now it isn't.

Suggestions?

Excel Facts

Highlight Duplicates
Home, Conditional Formatting, Highlight Cells, Duplicate records, OK to add pink formatting to any duplicates in selected range.
check if formula calculations are automatic in the formulas tab>calculation options
or maybe try double click on a cell and see if it goes away
