Hi team,

Have an excel file that gets larger every time I save it. It did have circular refs in it that have now been repaired (no errors or circ ref's any more) and the file size has gone from 800kb to around 2.5mb in 3 days. Each time I save it with new data input into it, it grows around 500kb and is now taking 20 mins to save.

Any ideas as to what could be causing the issue so I can find and repair it?

All the calculations inside the workbook are formulas. It is a property acquisition sales and cash flow modelling tool that I have got an automated report (text and formulas) in. It also has dynamic graphs, but nothing that should be making the sheet expand like this.

Thanks in advance.

Ok great. I will rebuild the entire thing. Take the formatting of cells and inputs and then insert the formulas.
@sandy666 I think the link refers to when this issue happened on the original book and I then copied over the contents and build a new one minus the circ refs. This worked for approx 1 week before the file got bigger and bigger to the degree it now takes 10 mins plus to open :)

Back to the drawing board to start over I think is the answer. Hopefully only takes 4-6 hours to finish :)

Thanks for all your help on this.

As mentioned earlier. I have in the past, copied each usedrange to a new and seperate workbook, then recombined them back to one workbook.
It has worked on a few occasions.
It might be worth a try....it'll only cost you 5 mins to find out !!

I removed all objects* from this workbook and got 774 kb against 2.51 MB
that means: no charts, no comments
and workbook can be saved

* - removed drawings folder from structure
