I have cells where I would like to extract the number before the x and after the x in two different columns:

Viewport: 320x460
Viewport: 1370x670
Viewport: 1920x960
Viewport: 1920x980
Viewport: 1920x990
Viewport: 1370x640
Viewport: 1920x960
Viewport: 380x560

<colgroup><col style="width: 139px"></colgroup><tbody>
</tbody>

The numbers are are either three our four digits

If your number always started on fixed position, then

First number
=--MID(A1,11,FIND("x",A1)-11)

Second number
=--MID(A1,FIND("x",A1)+1,10)

Excel Facts

Waterfall charts in Excel?
Office 365 customers have access to Waterfall charts since late 2016. They were added to Excel 2019.
Thanks, but I get an #ERROR using this:

=-
HLOOKUP(1;-MID(B2;FIND("x";B2)-4;{1,2,3,4});1)

Then I imagine your system uses "\" as the separator for array constants, i.e.:

-HLOOKUP(1;-MID(B2;FIND("x";B2)-4;{1\2\3\4});1)

Regards
