I have already created tables in Access and have tested my data. Now i am trying to import these large amounts of data into Access. I have tried using the import wizard, however it will not let me choose the option to put this data into an existing table. I don't want to create a new table. What am i doing wrong?

Excel Facts

What does custom number format of ;;; mean?
Three semi-colons will hide the value in the cell. Although most people use white font instead.
You can create a Macro give this a try:

In a macro in Access
Action: TransferSpreadsheet
Transfer Type: Import
Spreadsheet Type: MS Excel
Table Name: Type name of table in here
File Name: Path eg: c:\my documents\

If you can save the spreadsheet as a text file, the import macro will run a lot faster.

When I try this, I get the error message:

Field "F1" does not exist in destination table

I think is because my destination table contains one extra field which happens to be my random primary key. This also has referential integrity linked to my primary inputs table. Any thoughts?

Did you select: "First Row Has Column Headings" ? It won't let you select a table if you don't have headings.

If your spread sheet doesn't have them then put the exact field names from the table into the spreadsheet. Then try and see if it works.
