Howdy all,
Not sure if anyone has much experience with the below.
I have a file that is entirely full of workbook links to a source file. Both files are housed on a business Sharepoint. Managers access and amend the source file using Excel (desktop), and other users will generally access the mirrored file through Excel for Web. The problem we are finding is that when the source file is updated, the changes are not immediately reflected on the linked file, viewed in Excel for Web.
I have tested the following.
Both workbooks opened in Excel (desktop) - changes updated immediately.
Source workbook opened in Excel (desktop)/linked workbook (opened in browser - changes are only updated when original workbook is closed or saved. AutoSave function does not trigger change.
Is there a way so that the users viewing in the browser can see changes updated immediately, and not rely on another user closing the sourceworkbook or manually saving when they make changes?
Perhaps there could be a VBA code that saves intermittently?
Cheers,
H
