Hi All,

I recently started advertising Excel training in my area to help supplement my income. I have gotten a decent response so far and actually just did an eight hour intermediate level class, with a national company, for a Microsoft Certified Partner. I'm proud to say they gave me an excellent rating. I have also done some very specific training for people on pivot tables and some advanced formulas which have also gone very well.

Now I have been contacted to work on a project for a business to build several sheets to forecast their business out for the next five years, based on the P&L for the last 8 years. I have seen the spreadsheet they are working from and I'm comfortable I can do the work, I also have the business experience to understand what they need but (here comes the question) I feel like I need a contract to do more than just classes and I was wondering if anyone here had a sample contract you would be willing to share or if you could point me to a good place to find one. I would also greatly appreciate any other advise anyone would care to share about pitfalls to watch out for or just advice in general as I pursue this new endeavor.

Thanks in advance for your advice!!

Excel Facts

What does custom number format of ;;; mean?
Three semi-colons will hide the value in the cell. Although most people use white font instead.
You should be able to find sample contracts online. If not, then PM me your e-mail address and I can dig one up.

As for pitfalls, make sure that you clearly define expectations, outcomes and payment terms (including down payment %).
