Excel misreading dates

Hi,

I have some data that was imported from HOBO into a .csv file in Excel. It includes a date and time column, but about half of the dates are being read incorrectly in Excel. It is treating the month as year and day as month. For example: 2015-08-01 is being changed in Excel to 2008-01-15. I have tried the text to column function, as well as formatting the cells to try to change this but can only get it to change the order of the values, not which values are assigned as day, month, and year. Is there any way to tell Excel which values should be day, etc...? It's a fairly large data set so changing the dates manually would take forever.

Thanks!

Excel Facts

Control Word Wrap
Press Alt+Enter to move to a new row in a cell. Lets you control where the words wrap.
Which options did you try for Data>Text to columns...?

Perhaps Data > Text to columns, Next, Next, Date: YMD, Finish
