Good day Pros,

My issue today is. I downloaded data for work and attempted to put a filter to aid in sorting the dates. When I click the dropdown it shows every individual date. I already changed the whole column to date and nothing happens until I click on the cell, then it will change to the formatted date. I have over 5000 entries. I attempted to look for a solution before asking for help. I attempted to copy and paste in various ways. I attempted to find and replace * using ~*, which did nothing. I also attempted to use month day year formulas and got the same results. I also went to the settings option and made sure the filter dates was checked off.
I dont know what to do, please help. Thank you in advance.

Put 1 in an empty cell.
Copy the cell.
Select your dates.
PasteSpecial>Multiply.

Solution
THANK YOU SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH.
I just realized I had miscalculated, and I have 13,000 dates and not 5000

Another option is usually to
Select the entire column -> Text to Columns (on the Data ribbon tab) -> Next -> Next -> Choose the appropriate date format from the Date drop-down -> Finish
