Excel Mac 2011 Ctrl + Tab while editing formula cancels editing window

Hi all,

I am using Excel for Mac 2011 and when I am trying to edit a formula in a cell and reference another cell, I hit ctrl + tab to switch workbooks and when I do it cancels the edit formula. When I click on the second workbook while editing a formula it works fine. Is there any solution to toggle workbooks while editing using the keyboard shortcuts? Thanks.
 

Excel Facts

Whats the difference between CONCAT and CONCATENATE?
The newer CONCAT function can reference a range of cells. =CONCATENATE(A1,A2,A3,A4,A5) becomes =CONCAT(A1:A5)
