Hello all,

I am a novice at using Excel as i am normally the member of IT staff supporting the user but have now become the user.

I am looking to link two Excel documents together with one document having a reference number hyperlinked to a user name on a seperate Excel document.

I can currently link the two documents by way of Hyperlink but need to link perticular cells from one document to another.

I have serached online but most of the MS guides assume i created Excel and are not very helpful.

I am looking to add hundreds of users and with each entry find a simple solution to link them to the other worksheet as i go along with the entries.

If anyone has a user friendly idea or solution i would much appreciate it.

Excel Facts

What is the shortcut key for Format Selection?
Ctrl+1 (the number one) will open the Format dialog for whatever is selected.
This simple method is just to link them by formula

='W:\AMEU Projects\[mytestworkbook.xlsx]Sheet1'!$F$3

links a cell to cell F3 on sheet one of a currently closed workbook

or like this when the workbook is open

=[mytestworkbook.xlsx]Sheet1!$F$3

or like this in another sheet of the same workbook

=Sheet1!$F$3

or use INDIRECT for lots of sheets
