We have a user who has an Excel file that pulls data from an xlsm file. Both are on the same share drive. If we change which file it pulls that data from, via Edit Links or Workbook Links -> Change Source, Excel stops responding. Other users are able to update this file without issue; takes about a minute. I've verified they're on the same version (Microsoft 365 Apps for Enterprise, v2411 on W11) and all the settings under File -> Options match.
If the xlsm file is on the local hard drive, it works fine.
Having the source file open doesn't help, and I've verified that DisableMergeInstance is off.
What else could be causing this?
