I'm needing a formula that will determine the number of days that fall in a specific month based on a date range. For example, if I have a date range of 10/15/2009 to 01/13/2009, I need the formula to determine the number of days in each month within the range (October has 15 days in the date range; November has 30, December has 31, and January has 13.) I have a large spreadsheet that would be so much easier to manage with such a formula. Currently, my spreadsheet is setup as follows. I need the forumla automatically fill in the number of days under each month. I just can't get this figured out. HELP!

Stard Date End Date Oct-09 Nov-09 Jan-10 Feb-10
10/15/2009 01/13/2009

By the way, I'm using Excel 2007.

Thanks for your help!

randomly go through the forum submittals and you will find many new uses of functions.

One of the best to follow is Barry Houdini.

I had never used the median until I saw several formulas he used them in.

As you are using NETWORKDAYS you might as well use EOMONTH so formula could be

=MAX(0,NETWORKDAYS(MAX($F3,H$2),MIN($G3,EOMONTH(H$2,0)),holiday_list))

I have a need for something similar. I tried figuring this out on my own but could only get so far. Right now, I have a spreadsheet that allows you to enter in names and date ranges. The spreadsheet so far will automatically calculate the worked days in that range (in hours) and subtract it from a total possible number of hours. It even looks up to see if the same person is entered more than once and keeps a running total. It will also automatically fill in the persons name once on a separate worksheet.

I can't figure out how to get excel to look at that person's name and dump the hours worked per month onto the other sheet once for that person across a timeline broken down by months. Is this possible or would it be easier to have the data imported to access? Any suggestions would be appreciated!

I need some assistance with using IF statment and Conditional Formatting.

In cell C19 I want to enter a date of < = 1/1/1993
I want my cell L19 to be grey out

In Cell C19 I want to enter a date of < = 1/1/2005
I want my cell L19 to be grey out

In both senarios if the date is not less than or equal to the date I enter I want the cell to remain white.

I have tried conidtional formating and If statements and non are working to what I need.
