Is there a function that will drop values from a cell? In other words, do the opposite of the Left and Right functions. Instead of returning the first x characters in a cell, it drops the first x characters from a cell? If yes, can someone let me know what it's called and what arguments are needed?

Excel Facts

When they said...
When they said you are going to "Excel at life", they meant you "will be doing Excel your whole life".
There's no native function that does that exactly...but with a little cleverness....

=RIGHT(A1,LEN(A1)-2)

That will remove the 2 charachters on the left (or more specifically, it returns all characters except the first 2 on left)

=LEFT(A1,LEN(A1)-2)

That will remove the 2 charachters on the right (returns all characters except the last 2 on the right)
