A few years back I installed Excel 2016 on my 64bit win10 machine, recently I discovered it had only installed the 32bit version when playing with large data set. I uninstalled office, and even used a Microsoft cleanup tool but I cannot get the installation to install 64bit.
on looking into my Microsoft account it appears that for some reason the initial install did not register correctly so I am unable to have a choice of 32/64 for the custom installer download.
i refuse to pay for 365 As I have already paid for office 2016 anyone else encounter this anomaly

Excel Facts

Excel Can Read to You
Customize Quick Access Toolbar. From All Commands, add Speak Cells or Speak Cells on Enter to QAT. Select cells. Press Speak Cells.
Unless my memory is faulty, if you bought Office 2016 not as part of a subscription, you only bought specifically 32 or 64 bit, not the option of being able to install either one.

Thanks for the reply, I checked the invoice and it says 32 and 64 it appears that something silent went on during installation. A few posts on internet suggest the installation looks for what is currently installed and follows suit. I had 2010 64bit before but as it was 3 years ago I can’t remember if I removed 2010 before upgrading
I might install 2010 again as 64bit and try 2016 install and see what happens
it all tries to get you to empty your pockets for 365
