Hello. I'm new in Excel2003. So maybe my question is very easy to resolve but I've looked a lot and have not still found the answer. So please help.

The situation is the next: I need a simple chart for the next table:

X-Axis values Y-Axis values
a 122
b 117
c 112
d 114
a 110
b 114
c 128
d 137
a 104
a 100

It seems easy but the problem is that the X-Axis values shoul be grouped. I.e. the chart should have only one point 'a', one point 'b', one point 'c' and one point 'd' on the X - Axis (the order is not neccessary) and different points with the values on Y - Axis for the appropriate group. There is no problem if X-Axis values are numbers. For example like this:

X-Axis values Y-Axis values
1 122
4 117
5 112
5 114
5 110
5 114
3 128
1 137
7 104
1 100

And the chart for it (XY Scatter) is easy to build (simply choose the column with X-Axis values for X Values). But when I try to do the same with the text values then the chart become the set of points where Y-Axis values have the values from the table and X-Axis values have the values from 1 to 10.

I also tried to do it by changing the chart type to Line - it shows the text values correctly by the X-Scale but it doesn't group them. There will be 4 times 'a' on the X-Scale, 2 times 'b' e.t.c.

So please help.
:)
