Error Msg When Using Slicer

All users concerned are using Excel 2016. On my computer, I have the Power Pivot add-on while audience doesn't.

When emailing my report to my audience, as soon as they select a something in the slicer, they encounter this error:

The query did not run or the Data Model could not be accessed. Here's the error message we got:

MdxScript(Model) (7, 8) Calculation error in measure 'refCallDetail'[Calls Handled]: The function COUNT takes an argument that evaluates to numbers or dates and cannot work with values of type String.

When I open the same report and use the slicers, I have no problems. I have had my audience enable the Powerpivot add-ins and they still encounter the same issues. What puzzles me is I have sent reports using PowerPivot to other people who do not have the add-on and they have never encountered problems using slicers before. What makes this instance so different? How do I resolve this?

Copy formula down without changing references
If you have =SUM(F2:F49) in F50; type Alt+' in F51 to copy =SUM(F2:F49) to F51, leaving the formula in edit mode. Change SUM to COUNT.
Probably having more or less updated versions of Power Pivot. On the face of it, it seems that you are counting a column that includes strings, so use COUNTA instead of COUNT.

While that solved my specific issue, is there any general advice you can provide to avoid encountering this issue in the future? I'd like to avoid sending reports only to find out that my audience can't use them and then have to constantly tweak and troubleshoot formulas.
