Desperately trying to keep and old and unstable Powerpivot 2010 model alive until we migrate systems in a few months. Started having a really odd problem with one specific workbook. I have it all loaded up and working away with data model open and creating pivot tables. i save it and when I reopen it I get

"Embedded Analysis services Engine: Could not load embedded powerpivot data"

What makes no sense is I have another 2010 based model that i have opened in a new session of Excel 2010 . This works perfectly fine implying nothing wrong with my installation.

I store all my files on Dropbox so have every version. First time this happened i cranked back about 10 versions and suddenly it loaded. So I started rebuilding and now it has happened again. So the problem seems to be created when i add something new that works at the time, but not when it is reloaded.

Any suggestions really appreciated

Mike
