I am new to pivot tables. I am working on a general ledger summary on a worksheet. I want to edit the values in a column but when I click on a cell, it opens up on a new sheet. Is this the only way of editing information in a pivot table? I have lots of values to edit.

thanks

Need 1 part of a formula to always point to the same range? use $ signs: $V$2:$Z$99 will always point to V2:Z99, even after copying
You cannot edit values in a pivot table, only the source data. Pivot tables are meant to be a summary of your source data. What are you trying to edit?

I am trying to edit the number values from 2022 and change them to the number values for 2023. The work book was sent to me to work on which has info from 2022 and I have to update the info for 2023. There is no corresponding table to let me edit the pivot table.

When I go to refresh the data in the new sheet that opens up, it comes up with an error:

We couldn't refresh the connection Query - Table 001 (Page 1) [Expression.Error] The value for option 'Implementation' is invalid'

Did you try "Change data source" -> reference 2023 data?
