Hello,

I'm trying to understand why my calculation is not working on the text.

Any help is appreciated!

=offset('NIQ CALCS (2)'!$D13:$D$23,,,COUNTA('NIQ CALC'!$D$13:$D$23))

The ?* is telling the countifs to count cells cells with 1 or more characters, which will not count cells that have "" as it is a zero length string.
Without knowing exactly what formula you typed it's difficult to answer your 2nd question, but the formula I provided should work.
