Download File from web using VBA

Hi,

I'm quite new to vba and have been working on automating IE. Part of my task involves using explorer to download a file from a given url and save it to disk. I've figured out how to launch explorer and start the download, but then a dialogue box appears asking whether to save the file and where to save it. how do I automatically get past this and save the file to e.g "quotes.xls"?

I know this is a old thread but a hoping someone can still answer a question that rose from using the above macro. When I run the DownloadFileAPI macro the files that download link into a master file, and when the master file is open and links are updated each link gives off a prompt 'Unable to read". The work around is to have the macro open each of the linked workbooks (i.e. the new downloaded file). Does anyone know why the prompt is appearing?
