How can I show plus (+) sign in front of the subtraction output if it is positive?
Lets say A1 : 2 and A2: 6 = and I want to make a calculation in A3 =A2-A1 =4
I would like it to be displayed as +4.
I don't have problem with minus results obviously. thanks.

I think you mean (semicolon instead of comma; might be a localization difference, though):

+#;-#
I'm an idiot! :banghead: I'm an idiot! :banghead: I'm and idiot! :banghead: I cannot believe I did not see that!

+0;-0;0

Thus, if the value is less than 0.5, we would +0 instead of simply +. And if the value is zero, we would see 0 instead of +.
The OP showed whole numbers so I unthinking used # signs, but you are right... zeroes would have been a much better choice. And good idea about the third pattern field (otherwise without it, zero would display as +0).

Excel Facts

Convert text numbers to real numbers
Select a column containing text numbers. Press Alt+D E F to quickly convert text to numbers. Faster than "Convert to Number"
Thank you all for your suggestions. I tried them all, only this format worked for me +0;-0;0 in Excel 2007.
