Difficult to edit button text as it's not updated until the button loses focus

Not sure when this started but it's been awhile. When adding a Forum control button there is a right click edit text option but you can not see what you are typing.

Excel Facts

Format cells as time
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+2 to format cells as time. (Shift 2 is the @ sign).
I see the text I'm editing after right clicking and choosing Edit Text

Mine: Microsoft® Excel® for Microsoft 365 MSO (Version 2411 Build 16.0.18227.20082) 64-bit

If I make a new workbook and add a new button it works but not in the workbooks I'm currently using. ???
