I remember being the "Excel Guy" in my office and thinking I was a guru and then joining here and realising I knew nothing... A while ago - thank God!

Yeah I'm the young Richard. Referred to at my last job across the board as "Excel Guy", "Excel Genius" "Excel Whizz-kid", and yet I'm on here half the day asking for help!

It's all about managing expectation. When I started my job and could do basic conditional formula they thought I was the bees knees.

Since I've automated this, that and everything they just want more. I get them coming to me to do stuff when IT have said it can't be.

God help the companies who employ some of the mvp's from here and they up sticks.

It's all relative. 12 years ago I thought I was pretty good but that was compared to my colleagues, who really knew nothing.
Six years ago I visited here... the best Excel resource on the planet. Still learning!
