Hi All,
Miss desperate here. I am trying to create a spreadsheet that automatically calculates the square footage of room measurements when they're entered as such: 7.1 X 12.4 (meaning-7 feet, 1 inch X 12feet, 4 inches) I've searched the board and cannot find anything.
Got any ideas???

Hi petice:

I see a problem lurking in the approach you are using ...

if 7.1 means 7 feet and 1 inch, how are you going to represent 7 feet and 10 inches

So, believing you are dealing with whole inches, I suggest you you use two decimal places ... meaning

use 7.01 to delineate 7 feet and 1 inch, and 7.10 to delineate 7 feet and 10 inches

as illustrated in ...
Book1
ABCD
1FeetPointInchesFeetPointInchesAreaInSquareFeet
27.0112.0487.36111111
37.1012.0496.61111111
Sheet1

formula in cell C2 is ... =(INT(A2)+MOD(A2,1)/0.12)*(INT(B2)+MOD(B2,1)/0.12)

this is then copied down.

Yes! Use "0101011" for the weekend argument in NETWORKDAYS.INTL or WORKDAY.INTL. The 7 digits start on Monday. 1 means it is a weekend.
