CTRL + S not working as expected

I've had this problem show up before and I don't know what causes it.

I expect CTRL+S to save the workbook but instead, it's putting it into full screen, hiding my headings, and hiding my tabs... How do I fix this?
 
In that case the only other thing I can think of is if one of your macros uses SendKeys.

Try opening Excel in safe mode & see if it still happens.
Tried that, worked fine. Closed it and reopened it normally and it works again. This is something that weirdly happens from time to time even though I make no changes myself.
