Hi,

I have formulas in column B looking at values column A and showing results such as Pass or Fail.
I wanted to use the Countifs to count how many time I had Pass in column B, but instead it counted every word "Pass" found in formulas.
How can I avoid counting "passes" written in formulas and only count "Pass" formula results

Thanks

You can teach Excel a new custom list. Type the list in cells, File, Options, Advanced, Edit Custom Lists, Import, OK
is this what you're using

=COUNTIF(B:B,"Pass")

Yes, I am using this one, but counts the word Pass in every formula in column B. What I need is counting results of the formula if it results in "Pass!", thanks

Countif (or any formula for that matter), doesn't look at the text of the formula itself. It looks at the result of that formula.
Provided those formulas are actually entered as formulas, and showing results.

What I need is counting results of the formula if it results in "Pass!", thanks

Then your formula should probably be
=COUNTIF(B:B,"Pass!")
