Hiya :)

I have a spreadsheet that is used to collate details of clients.

I'm trying to create a total for the number of client sign ups from the previous month using this forumala :
=SUMPRODUCT(--(MONTH(tblVolDatabase[Joined])=MONTH(DATE(YEAR(TODAY()),MONTH(TODAY())-1,1))))

It's working fine except it is giving me totals for the pervious month regardless of year (e.g counting Nov sign ups from 2022 and 2021)

Any suggestions?! Probably missing something simple. Thanks!

Hi & welcome to MrExcel.
How about
Excel Formula:
=COUNTIFS(tblVolDatabase[Joined],">="&DATE(YEAR(TODAY()),MONTH(TODAY())-1,1),tblVolDatabase[Joined],"<"&DATE(YEAR(TODAY()),MONTH(TODAY()),1))

A little shorter

Code:
=COUNTIFS(tblVolDatabase[Joined],">"&EOMONTH(TODAY(),-2),tblVolDatabase[Joined],"<="&EOMONTH(TODAY(),-1))
