I copied a column of data and pasted it in another column, the letters are now red instead of black and it wont let me fix it. Does anyone know what is going on here!?

Excel Facts

What is =ROMAN(40) in Excel?
The Roman numeral for 40 is XL. Bill "MrExcel" Jelen's 40th book was called MrExcel XL.
might be a number of things. i thought just doing a ctrl+C ctrl+V would copy and paste the cells formats with the data, but in case it didn't try copy the original column again, right click the destination column with the red text, select paste special, then paste formats and click ok
