Is it possible to configure conditional formatting to highlight cell if the data comes from a different cell.

My example would be I have a seperate sheet that houses my input data and then it is this that feeds information to another.

So if my inputs sheet looks like the attached can I have where that data is put formatted the same way on another sheet? (like the second snapshot)

I have tried and can't figure it out so I could be asking too much

Yes.
But I'm not sure from the rest of your post, what exactly you are trying to do.
If the "different cell" is on a different sheet from the cell you are applying the CF to, then some older versions of Excel struggled with this - it was still possible to do, but a bit more complicated.

Try playing around with a simple version across two sheets, and maybe you'll get the hang of it.

Or, if you can post back a clearer description of what you're trying to do, we might be able to suggest a more specific solution.

Thank you, (my first reaction was oh no) but I will give it a shot. I need to figure out a simple way, but I think what I will do now is design the whole thing long hand then break it down issue by issue and see where I end up. The CF is to confirm I have accounted for every negative entry with a positive entry else where in the workbook
