Conditional Formating Rule question

Good morning/afternoon!

I am attempting to use to create a Condition Formatting Rule in which if a particular cell has a zero, the following 3 or 4 cells populate with a N/A.

When I create the new rule under use a formula to determine which cells to format, I highlight the 3 or 4 cells and put the formula (example) =if(DN6=0, N/A), but it doesn't seem to work.

I take it I am misunderstanding the rule?

Just in case it comes up. The 3 or 4 cells I am trying to use this rule for might have other values manually typed/overwritten, otherwise I would just put the formula and lock the cells.

Thanks for all help in advance. :)

I stand corrected, it can 'sort of' put a value in the cell.
But it's really just a custom format so it looks like N/A is in the cell, but it's not really.
The original value is still there.
So if you did a regular formula to test if the contained N/A it would be false.

Make sure you're following CodeNinja's instructions, it can work...
