Conditional Format across multiple cells with different refernce cell.

Hello,

I want to apply a simple conditional format to a large number of cells.

Format: if =F6<>U6 and apply this condition to U6

I have a range of values like this, so the next in the series would be if: =G6<>V6 apply this condition V6, next is if =H6<>W6 apply this condition to W6, and so on...

So the range continues on with hunderds of cells where the specific reference cell continues to shift right one cell at a time.
Is there a way to do this in one formula rather than individually applying this condition to each cell?

You should be able to go to Conditional Formatting, then select Manage Rules. Click new rule and for rule type select use a formula to determine which cells to format. In the rule description, enter the rule for the first cell that will be formatted. In your example this would be =F6<>U6. Don't use the cell selector or if you do, make sure you remove the absolute reference '$'s. Select your formatting and click OK. In the applies to box, select the range that you would want the fomatting to apply: V6:W6 or wherever it ends and click apply.

Using Formula
=F6<>U6
Select the desirable Color
OK

Yes thank you two for the help, my issue was the absolute reference was causing it to apply the format to all cells rather that each cell individually.
