Conditional Distinct Value Sum

Hi All, I'm hoping someone can help me with a conditional distinct value sum, I've detailed below an example of what I'm trying to accomplish.


I need to sum balances for distinct Account Identifiers where the sum of the distinct Account Identifiers balances are above a certain threshold. For the below sample data set, the formula would sum the balances for distinct Acct Identifiers that had a sum greater than 10. So for the data below the value returned by the formula would be 54. It would sum the balances for SSN1 & SSN2 because their sums exceeded 10, 35 & 19 respectively but would exclude SSN3 from the sum because it only summed to 7.

Acct Identifier Balance
SSN1 5
SSN1 2
SSN1 8
SSN2 9
SSN1 10
SSN2 9
SSN2 1
SSN1 10
SSN3 4
SSN3 3

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I understand how functions work in that I need to move the range within the function call to point at the data I want evaluated, my point is that if you move the data to say F10:F18 & G10:G18 and point the function to the correct range, the macro returns 191 not 54.

I can't figure out how to post the spreadsheet like you did in your previous post to show you what I'm looking at.

I have over 10k rows of data

I'm gonna take a wild guess and say that formula will be very slow to calculate on 10k rows of data! :eeek:

I was playing around with a solution similar to this, but didn't think about using SUMIF like:

This is great, thanks for the formula Valko. I knew there had to be a way but the conditional part of the array kept throwing me for a loop.

For those of you that prefer the vb method and have been reading this post, below is some modified code from njimack that allows you to post the data anywhere in the spreadsheet.
