I'm really not even sure what the best way to do what what I want is so I'll start by describing the desired outcome.
Brand1 (value 1, value 2, value 3)
Brand2 (value 1, value 2, value 3)
Brand3 (value 1, value 2, value 3)
Brand4 (value 1, value 2, value 3)
4Brand (value 1, value 2, value 3)
1Brand (value 1, value 2, value 3)
2Brand (value 1, value 2, value 3)
Brand1 Plus (value 1, value 2, value 3)
Some Brand1 (value 1, value 2, value 3)
Wow Brand2 (value 1, value 2, value 3)
Hey Brand3 (value 1, value 2, value 3)
In the list above, no 2 cells are the same, but I want to treat Brand1, 1Brand, Brand1 Plus, and Some Brand1 as one cell, and combine the sum of their 'value 1'
Is there any way I can do this?
- I have a spreadsheet with say 10,000 product names in one column and attributes for each product in a row.
- Many of these rows are the same product but using a different name.
- The differences in the names can be the order of the words, or missing words for example
- There's always one common element (1-3 words)
- I want to be able to sort the data according to a filter I specify, and combine the values of their attributes.
Brand1 (value 1, value 2, value 3)
Brand2 (value 1, value 2, value 3)
Brand3 (value 1, value 2, value 3)
Brand4 (value 1, value 2, value 3)
4Brand (value 1, value 2, value 3)
1Brand (value 1, value 2, value 3)
2Brand (value 1, value 2, value 3)
Brand1 Plus (value 1, value 2, value 3)
Some Brand1 (value 1, value 2, value 3)
Wow Brand2 (value 1, value 2, value 3)
Hey Brand3 (value 1, value 2, value 3)
In the list above, no 2 cells are the same, but I want to treat Brand1, 1Brand, Brand1 Plus, and Some Brand1 as one cell, and combine the sum of their 'value 1'
