Column width in Header / Footer

I have Excel 2010, and the header and footer are by default each divided into 3 boxes, each of equal width. Is there any way of changing the width of the boxes? I would like to have the centre box wider than the other two.

Did you try what I suggested?

I knew to do that anyway. I just wondered if there was another workaround. Apparently not.
