Is there any way to do this, take the field headers and make them row headers? (Basically to transpose the query's results?

If you start asking yourself if now is a good time to save your Excel workbook, the answer is Yes
Depending on how your data is structured, you might be able to use a crosstab query, there's also a wizard for doing this.

thanks, I tried using the wizard like you said but it would only allow 3 row headers.. I didn't know what to put under "data" either.

my query has about 30 headers, each has a long, descriptive title, so it would be ideal to have them as row headers, not column headers. I am using Access 97 and I am well aware of the limitations.. so if it isn't possible I wouldn't be surprised.

Hullo. Assuming you are wanting to report on the results of a query, I imagine you could export the results to Excel, and transpose from there, keeping in mind Excel's limitations as well.
