Call me paranoid but is it possible that IT's reports will show the date/times of access to the programs? Will they be someday at your desk asking why you are opening 15 apps simultaneously once every 30 days ...
Anyway - if they take MSPaint away from you its a very strange place indeed
(note: although I believe Adobe Acrobat - the standard program, not the reader - is a pretty expensive program and you might let that one go if you aren't using it).
