Hello I am currently using excel to put together an extensive recipe, food costing and food yield ss. I am curious if it is at all possible to create a formula that would allow me to type a specific word say "onions" and in the adjacent cell it puts the price of onions. I have the prices of all ingredients we currently use on a separate pages. So onions next cell .35 next cell per lb. Forgive me i am not good at this language

How to create a cell-sized chart?
Tiny charts, called Sparklines, were added to Excel 2010. Look for Sparklines on the Insert tab.
Welcome to the Board!

You can absolutely do that! Just create a lookup table with your list of ingredients, and the price of each, and then you can use a VLOOKUP or XLOOKUP formula to return that price when you look up one of those values.

See here for an explanation and examples: VLOOKUP function - Microsoft Support
