Charts don't display

Hello everybody, I hope you are doing good.

I am currently facing a predicament on Office 2010 and I wanted to know if somebody had the answer to this tricky question.

After installation everything seems to work except Charts which is quite an issue. I followed the instructions and I even tried to re-install the Microsoft .NET framework and Visual Studio 2010 Tools for Office Runtime but it didn't work...

When I try to make a pivot chart (for example), even if I select "on an existing worksheet" a new tab with written on it "Data for Sheet1 Chart1" displays but no chart, a pivot table interface also appears but when I fill it there is still no chart.

Thanks in advance for your insight on this matter, I am just starting to learn Power Pivot and I am amazed by its capacities, it would be too bad if I couldn't learn it...

Excel Facts

Does the VLOOKUP table have to be sorted?
No! when you are using an exact match, the VLOOKUP table can be in any order. Best-selling items at the top is actually the best.
Thanks for your input Mole, that's the strange part as everything works fine (regular pivot charts as well) except the charts so it's actually a pretty big issue.

Otherwise I have tried to disable the VBA references that were activated, it didn't work...

I have some Microsoft Visual C++ and MSXML 4.0 Parsers programs installed, do you think it could be the reason? Stevie, do you have them installed as well?

I wish I could transfer my Office licence to try it on another computer because I really want to learn PowerPivot!

That's interesting! Visual Studio was installed as part of the SQL Server Express installations on my machine.

Unfortunately I don't have another machine to try it on either.

I have deleted all the C++ visual studio stuff entries by Microsoft and all the MXML parsers and it is still not working, I have the impression that I've tried about everything I could think of and it's still not working... That's a big disappointment, particularly due to the fact that I can't transfer a license to try on another computer...

There something that could be tried, apparently you have to install the .NET framework BEFORE Office so it means that I'd have to reinstall it... Given that I haven't the cd key right now I have to fetch it and so I am stuck for now but I'll keep you updated.

Stevie, did you have the .NET 4.0 framework installed before Office or is it another false track?

Thanks for the info Fr.

I got the laptop with Office pre-loaded and haven't got the disk, so .Net was loaded afterwards. So unfortunately I'm a bit stuffed on that one

Another thing I've noticed is that relationships created in PowerPivot are not being recognised - I have to use the related function. Are you getting this problem too?

Yeah, I don't have the disk neither, I will try some desperate move but I am not sure it will work ;-)

Otherwise I am not sure exactly what do you mean by relationships not recognized, while doing the tutorial I did not encounter any problem until the charts but afterwards I didn't continue.
