Chart failure

I am using Excel 2010 on a Windows 7 pc. I have successfully generated numerous scatter charts from x and y columns of values in the spreadsheet whan the last row is at 3323. However, when I expand the list of values being plotted to 3833 (to bring it up to date), the x values that repeat as the y values are the same are plotted to give a false presentation of the relation between the development of the x,y relation. Over 3000 points are plotted rather than relevant 80 pairs.

Excel Facts

What is the last column in Excel?
Excel columns run from A to Z, AA to AZ, AAA to XFD. The last column is XFD.
As I said I can't reproduce the behaviour you are describing in Excel 2010. Do you want to put your workbook on a share like Box.com and post the URL so that I can take a look?

Before doing that, I will describe in detail an example of what is occurring in the number of charts I am using.
Click on Chart 65
the x axis goes from 0 to 90 and the plot is good
click on Select Data
click on Edit
change the last value on Series X Values from 3363 to 3383
change the last value on Series Y Values from 3363 to 3383
the x axis on the chart now goes from 0 to 3000 and the plot is faulty

How will sharing the workbook change what happens?

I don't have Chart 65 or your data andhaven't been able to reproduce the behaviour you are seeing. That's why I need to see your workbook.

I am not changing the data. The latest results increase the x and y columns from rows 3363 to 3383. The details I gave indicate how I then attempted to update chart 65 to include the latest results and that did not work. I have had this problem with numerous chats on this workbook. However, I have now generated another set of x y pairs by another method using the same set of values in the same workbook and the resultant chart does not have the problem. I will try and find why nominally the same routine produces both correct and faulty charts. I will report what I find out. Thanks for considering my problem.

I still have this problem in that some charts are faulty. Copy of an example is above.
