Is it possible to store the label position in a variable? Right now I have my own defined enumeration to mimic the positions, and then use an if test to set the correct position.

e.g.
Code:
Public Enum enumLabelPos
  center
  right
end enum

' define the var
Dim theEnumVariable as enumLabelPos
theEnumVariable = enumLabelPos.center

if (theEnumVariable = enumLabelPos.center) then ActiveChart.SeriesCollection(1).DataLabels.Position = xlLabelPositionCenter

So I am looking to define the variable without having to use the enum as in
Code:
Dim theEnumVariable as DataLabels.Position ' not a real data type
theEnumVariable = xlLabelPositionCenter

Thanks for any help
